SUMMARY:Makeover Day at Contee-Parago Park
DESCRIPTION:Makeover Day will be literally giving the park its prime-time makeover. The Friends of Contee-Parago Park be creating new planting beds\, removing non-native plants including irises\, daffodils\, and daylilies (which will be given away to volunteers)\, installing over 1\,400 new plants\, and unveiling new signage. The plan that was developed for us by the Association of Professional Landscape Designers contains over 90% native plants\, which are better for pollinators\, easier on resources\, and healthier for us and the environment. The species selected by APLD have been tailored for the park’s relatively dry\, shady conditions and urban pollutants. Tools will be available for planting but feel free to bring your own! \n
