BHCA’s annual membership meeting will be held on Tuesday, May 6, at 7 p.m. at Baltimore Unity Hall. It will feature fellowship, snacks and the election of a new slate of officers and board members. The meeting is open to all residents.

Dan Deacon is a composer, musician... and a savior of Mount Royal Tavern

Often seen walking in Bolton Hill with his family and with an engaging smile, Dan Deacon is a notable composer and performer of electronic music. With five solo albums and nearly 30 credits for television and film scores, Dan also has collaborated with symphony orchestras and chamber groups, including the Baltimore Symphony and Kronos Quartet. Deacon recently composed the music for New York City Ballet’s Mystic Familiar, choreographed by Justin Peck.

Anthony Duncan has worked for Apple in California and for two big Washington law firms as a patent attorney specializing in technology. Now, working initially from his home near McMechen and Bolton streets, he is running a startup company that will produce YourPatentAI –software for clients, patent law firms and other tech entrepreneurs.
BHCA board approves budget for 2026-2027

BHCA’s board has approved its budget for Fiscal Year 2027 (May 1, 2026, through April 30, 2027). It reflects a continued commitment to the events, parks, and projects that define neighborhood life, and a deficit that the finance committee says is both expected and explainable.

The picturesque streets of Bolton Hill and nearby neighborhoods in which he has lived and worked have been the subject of his art since the beginning of his career.
Peter Beinert to speak at Brown Memorial Church

Peter Beinert, an opinion journalist and authority on American foreign policy, Palestinian freedom and the Jewish people, will speak at Brown Memorial Presbyterian Church on Sunday, April 26 at 3 p.m., as part of the church’s Tiffany Events speaker program. It is open to all.
Artists are Invited to submit work for MICA-BHCA community exhibition

BHCA is partnering with the Maryland Institute College of Art in an open call for artists for an upcoming exhibition at the Meyerhoff Gallery. This community-focused exhibition, to celebrate the 200th Anniversary of MICA, will showcase the creative talent in the neighborhood. The exhibition will run from June 19 – July 19, with an opening reception on June 18, from 6-8 p.m
