Makeover Day at Contee-Parago Park
Makeover Day will be literally giving the park its prime-time makeover. The Friends of Contee-Parago Park be creating new planting beds, removing non-native plants including irises, daffodils, and daylilies (which will be given away to volunteers), installing over 1,400 new plants, and unveiling new signage. The plan that was developed for us by the Association of Professional Landscape Designers contains over 90% native plants, which are better for pollinators, easier on resources, and healthier for us and the environment. On Saturday, May 7, at 9:00 am we plan to meet at the Lanvale Triangle Park to plan seven new trees on the 100 block of West Lanvale. Please bring a shovel (if it's easy), gloves, and a green thumb. Unity Hall Grand Opening

A task force of older residents has started gathering and calling itself the Bolton Hill Gray Panthers to look for ways to create community-based support and promote resources available to residents who are age 60+ and aiming to live a lot longer in their Bolton Hill residences. This fourth gathering is open to anyone with an interest in the subject and will take place at Linden Senior Apartments, with a potluck lunch on the grounds afterward.
