Program to Support the Memorial Episcopal Church Afghan Relief Fund

November 17, 2021 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

As we enter the Holiday season, I hope you will join us in beginning the season providing support for our Afghan friends who suddenly find themselves without a place to call home. This “Friendsgiving” celebration featuring food from The Helmand will raise funds to support the Memorial Church Afghan Relief Fund.

Here’s how it works:

1) Choose your meal from The Helmand. All meals must be ordered by Monday, Nov. 15 at 5pm.

2) Pick up your meal  Nov. 17 6-7:15pm at Memorial Episcopal. (other delivery options are being developed around the area. If you prefer another location, please note that on the google form.)

3) Join our Zoom program at 7:30pm.

The program features Sughra Hussainy, an Afghan artist and MICA grad and Dr. Karen Hall, Deputy Executive Director of the Rule of Law Collaborative at the University of South Carolina and an expert on gender justice issues in Afghanistan.

If you want to join the Zoom program but don’t want a meal, you’re welcome to join us online only for $25.

All proceeds will go to the Memorial Afghan Relief Fund in order to support the resettlement of Afghan refugees in Baltimore, the placement of Afghan Legal Scholars around the country, and the continued evacuation of Afghan refugees from Afghanistan.
