Storybook characters welcome at Bolton Hill Nursery gala

Bolton Hill Nursery is hosting its annual gala on Saturday, April 25, from 7 to 10 p.m. at Memorial Episcopal Church’s sanctuary. It’s open to all.

For over 55 years, BHN has provided a play-based nursery school and childcare program that nurtures and empowers empathetic, creative, and inquisitive children. Their major fundraising event is the annual gala. This year’s Storybook Soiree promises attendees a night of dinner, dancing, silent auction, children’s book donations and camaraderie. Participants are invited to dress as a favorite storybook character.

Tickets are $50. Proceeds from the event will go towards initiatives such as outdoor classrooms and arts-integrated programming, as well as continuing education and staff training. Sponsors include Kelly Knock and Jessica Dailey, both neighborhood realtors, The Helmand, Mera Kitchen Collective, Union Craft Brewing, and Mount Royal Tavern. Tickets are $50 each and can be purchased by calling the school, 410-728-0003.

Celebrate May Day with a flower basket

Bolton Hill Garden Club and BHCA are encouraging neighborhood residents to mark May Day (Friday, May 1) by placing a basket or pot of flowers in front of homes, churches or businesses. This third annual informal event coincides with ongoing garden and park promotions. To participate, have your display set up no later than 11 a.m. Judges will place ribbons on those they find exceptional.

Garden club spring flower sale is this Saturday

The Bolton Hill Garden Club spring plant sale will be held Saturday, April 18, from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Fitzgerald Park. Annuals, perennials, hanging baskets and herbs will be on sale, but they also can be ordered in advance for pickup at www.boltonhillgardenclub.org.
