Lottchen (Lottie) Shivers, a 70+-year Bolton Hill resident and neighborhood matriarch, died last month at her home on Bolton Street. She was 101 years old.
“Mom engaged with life around her with curiosity, intellect, good conversation and laughter. She started out as a social worker and that itch to know and help people guided her entire life, whether it was taking care of four children, their four mates, and six grandchildren, or helping to build community in Bolton Hill in partnership with her husband of 70 years, Frank Shivers,” said her daughter, who shares her name.

Another longtime former resident, Natasha Zavoico Mathias, died after a stroke at the age of 87. Proud of her Russian heritage, she arranged numerous events around Russian Orthodox celebrations and lived a dynamic life. https://www.legacy.com/person/Natasha-Zavoico-Mathias-61558301

Finally, BHCA and the Prince Hall Masonic Lodge, which fronts onto Eutaw Place, jointly hosted a well-attended ceremony and placed a plaque on the Eutaw median near the lodge and nearby home of Henri Daniels.
