State gives neighborhoods $62,767 to start Green Street project
The State of Maryland has awarded $62,767 to BHCA and two adjacent community associations to start work on renovating Mounds Park – a kickoff to the Green Street Concept Plan for the 1400-1500 blocks of the Eutaw Place Median, Mosher Plaza and Mounds Park on the west side of Eutaw.
Senator wants neighborhoods involved in State Center planning
State Sen. Antonio Hayes (D), whose legislative District 40 includes Bolton Hill and most of West Baltimore, says he plans to revive a neighborhood alliance to help determine the future of the soon-to-be-empty 28-acre State Center complex at the south edge of the neighborhood.

It was clear for several weeks that something new was happening at the corner of Bolton and Mosher streets. Big boxes moved into the garages that face Mosher. Workmen on the outside were building shelving and opening crates. New paint, awnings and planters were installed on the Bolton-facing retail space that most recently housed an accountant’s offices.
Bolton Hill Nursery aims to raise $30,000
Bolton Hill Nursery School has kicked off a $30,000 year-end fundraising program. A portion of the proceeds are expected to underwrite repairs and improvements at the old mansion which is the West Lanvale Street campus.

BHCA endorses restaurant license for Unity Hall
BHCA’s board this month authorized its president to enter into an agreement supporting limited liquor sales on premises at Baltimore Unity Hall events. The restaurant license being sought will support BUH’s catering kitchen and will enable it to provide food and beverage services to individuals and organizations using the hall.
