A rite of spring in Bolton Hill, the Bolton Hill Garden Club’s spring plant sale will take place on Saturday, April 19. It will be in Fitzgerald Park (corner of Bolton and Wilson Streets) from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. It will feature for purchase annuals, perennials, hanging baskets and herbs – also available for pre-order on the BHGC website in the lead-up weeks.
There also will be a sale of gently used gardening-related items at reasonable prices. BHGC is looking for donated items to sell. If you have gardening paraphernalia you no longer need, please email Lisa Johnson to coordinate a drop-off.
Last year for the first time, BHGC held a silent auction during the plant sale. Auctioned items included everything from high-end bird baths to gardening gloves. This year’s auction will feature similarly eclectic treasures.
The plant sale, shed sale and silent auction generate a substantial part of the revenue BHGC uses to fund neighborhood greening grants and educational and social programs throughout the year. You can support these efforts by buying from the various sales, donating used items to the shed sale, or by volunteering to help. For more information, contact Lisa Johnson or Christine Delise.
