Passions set afire by Hamas’ bloody invasion of Israel and Israel’s retaliatory attacks on Gaza have resulted in graffiti in Bolton Hill.
Over three Saturdays out of four, someone has sprayed “Free Gaza” in an apparent demonstration of support for the Palestinians, on the plinth of a former Confederate statue on Mt. Royal Ave. near MICA. Similar slogans have appeared in Station North and elsewhere.
City officials responded quickly to 311 complaints and removed the spray paint twice, only for it to appear again – each time on the Jewish Sabbath.
