Bird-spotting in and near Bolton Hill for Christmas?

For 120 years now bird-lovers have come together outdoors during the holiday period to participate in the Audubon Society’s Christmas bird count. With reasonable precautions, it is a safe outdoor activity for individuals and families during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The count started on Monday and will run through Jan.5.  The variety of birds sighted in Maryland and  Delaware during a recent count was vast.  A variety of birds have been spotted in Bolton Hill either living here or seasonally passing through. They include Hummingbirds, Woodpeckers, House Sparrows, Cardinals, Goldfinches. Wrens, Eagles, House Finches, Crows, Robins, Cat birds, Mockingbirds, and Woodcocks, among others

Toby Ditz and Mark Martin have photographed a few.  If you see others, shoot a photo, and we’ll post a bird page on the BHCA website.  Send them to birds@boltonhillmd.org .
