Bolton Hill real estate values continued to rise in 2024, with 38 properties changing hands in the neighborhood at an average price of $466,510 and a median of $445,000, according to Live Baltimore, the non-profit organization working to boost the city’s population and support healthy housing markets.
BHCA and its Gray Panthers Task Force will host a reception on Friday, Feb. 28, from 3 to 5 p.m. to honor some three dozen Bolton Hill residents who have lived in the neighborhood for 50 years or more.

The first issue of the Bolton Hill Bulletin appeared in April 1972, a large tri-fold printed newsletter that would undergo surprisingly few changes over the next decades. Only in 2016 did it surrender to technology and become an online-only publication for what was then the Mt. Royal Improvement Association, now BHCA.
In what could become an annual cool-weather supplement to the summer Arts in the Parks concerts, BHCA is hosting with the Basilica Oratory at Corpus Christi church two indoor music concerts, free to the neighborhood.
MICA President Cecelia McCormick, speaking at BHCA’s Feb. 4 meeting, said she is optimistic about the school’s growth in the aftermath of the pandemic that shut down classes, and then reduced enrollment upon re-opening. Based on the inquiries it has received so far, MICA expects an increase in enrollment next fall, she said.
